Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book?
You can book by going on my online booking page
2. What is your cancellation policy?
Timo Massage Therapy has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you would like to avoid paying for a session you cannot attend, please give a minimum of 24 hours notice. There are two reasons for this - Firstly, I have other clients that may be desperate to get an appointment and secondly, it's my livelihood. Without enough notice to fill the slot, I lose the income and someone else loses a chance to get a treatment.
3. When are you available?
I’m available at Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden from Monday to Friday between 9am and 8pm. Generally evening appointments between 6pm and 8pm require more advance booking as they are very popular
4. How often should I book a treatment?
Everybody is different so there is no straight forward answer to this. Generally I say that if there is some level of regularity, you always get more from your massage treatments as you will stay on top of aches and pains and feel energised, recharged and in balance with yourself. Sometimes I can just treat someone for once or twice to help with a particular issue or injury and that's all that is required.
5. What sort of lotion do you use?
I use massage lotion that is odourless and doesn't stain your clothes or stay on your skin afterwards like some oils do. The massage lotion is enriched with Allantoin, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Camomile
6. Are you registered therapist?
I'm registered with Complementary Therapist Association (CThA) and Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) . I trained in Finland at The Finnish Sports Massage College (Suomen Urheiluhierojaopisto)
7. How do I pay?
Payment is by cash, cheque or all major credit cards
8. Does Sports Massage or Deep Tissue Massage hurt?
During the treatment you may feel some discomfort, but you must always let me know if you are outside your pain threshold. You may also feel soreness after the massage, but this will ease the following day and leave you feeling relaxed and a lot more mobile!
9. What is Voice Massage?
Voice Massage is aimed at muscles that are directly or indirectly involved in voice production. It helps to gain balanced function for these muscles. Particularly helpful to those that use their voice professionally. Please see my Voice Massage page for more information.
10. What should I wear?
I use towels during the treatment to keep areas that are not treated covered and would require that you keep your underwear on. You can bring a pair of shorts with you if you feel more comfortable wearing them. Stretchy underwear is best, especially when treating legs.
11. What type of treatment do I need?
Each treatment is tailored to your needs and I will assess your needs with you before and during your treatment.
Vocal Treatment
Voice Massage concentrates on all the muscles that are directly or indirectly involved with voice production . It helps to give balanced function to the muscles involved through classical massage strokes incorporating breathing exercises.
